MALAPPURAM: In another case of inter-party clash, a DYFI man was brutally attacked allegedly by IUML men on the Kuttayi beach at Tirur, here, on Tuesday.
The severely injured, Fasil Thitheerante Purakkal, 24, of Unniyal was taken to a hospital at Perinthalmanna. Hospital authorities said his condition was stated to be critical. The Tirur police said the attack was a follow-up of the ongoing inter-party rivalry between CPM and IUML that erupted on Unniyal Beach on Monday.
According to police, some strangers on two-wheelers believed to be members of the IUML, intercepted Fasil and wacked him unconscious with an iron rod, the police said.
