Protest Over Suspected Road Rage

KOZHIKODE:  Strong protests erupted in city on Wednesday after it was rumoured that Aloysius, who died in a motorbike accident the other day, was brutally murdered by the bus driver by firmly ramming the bus into the bike.

According to reports, Aloysius had a verbal spat with the bus driver minutes before the accident on stopping the bus in the middle of the road and causing hardships to motorists.

The police, however, said the accident happened when Aloysius tried to overtake the bus from the left side.

The case registered under Section 304 (A) of IPC, for causing death by negligence, was changed to Section 304 due to protests led by the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI).The driver of the bus, who is still missing, has been identified as Sandeep of Cheekkilodu near Atholi.
