KC(M) Mouthpiece Assails Francis George

KOTTAYAM:  Hitting out at Francis George, who is leading the Democratic Kerala Congress, the mouthpiece of KC(M), ‘Prathichhaya’, said the dissident leader would have been just a fourth Standard student when the KC(M) was formed.

An article with headline ‘The things which Democratic Kerala Congress should know’ in the latest issue of ‘Prathichhaya’ says, “There is speciality in the latest split in the KC(M). Most of the dissidents were either toddlers or in the tummy of their mothers when the Kerala Congress was formed. And Francis George might have been only a fourth standard student then. ”

“No need to say about the knowledge of these people on the aim of the Kerala Congress, the fight and the pain experienced by its leaders,” it continued. Reminding of the “ill” fate of other dissidents like P C George, R Balakrishna Pillai, P C Thomas and Scaria Thomas, it says, “The LDF may offer them one or to two winning seats to the Democratic Kerala Congress. However, it has not yet accepted them. Francis George’s party is made to wait outside.” It is at a time when Kerala was hoping for continuity of UDF rule that the Democratic Kerala Congress has born.  It is now to see if it would be a success or failure, it says. In short, the article says ‘Those who do not learn history are doomed to repeat it’. The article also holds the Congress’s “negative attitude” towards the merger of the Kerala Congress in 2011 responsible for its poor performance in the elections. It says the party got only 15 seats to fight in that election, whereas it had 18 seats when the party was not merged.
