AIADMK Set to Enter Poll Fray in Kerala

PALAKKAD:  The AIADMK is gearing up to make its presence felt in the border districts of Palakkad and Idukki during the coming Assembly elections.

The party had conducted a well-attended Malampuzha Assembly segment convention at the Municipal Town hall here two days ago which was inaugurated by O K Chinnaraj, MLA from the Mettupalayam constituency of Coimbatore district.

AIADMK Palakkad district deputy secretary V Jayaraman said that the party would be contesting from three Assembly constituencies in Palakkad district and three constituencies from Idukki district.

He said that in Palakkad district, the AIADMK will put up candidates in Malampuzha, Chittur and Nenmara Assembly segments whereas in Idukki district, it will put up candidates in Devikulam, Peermade and Udumbanchola constituencies.

Paul Raj, member of the Chittur Assembly constituency of the AIADMK, said that O K Chinnaraj has been made in-charge of the Malampuzha constituency, A K Selvaraj MP in-charge of the Chittur constituency and Kovai district secretary Arun Kumar in-charge of the Nenmara segment.

The candidates are expected to be announced within a week, he added.
