Ensure AEO's effort to close Malaparamba school is not obstructed: Kerala HC to cops

The Kerala High Court on Friday directed the State Police Chief to ensure that nobody obstructed efforts by the Assistant Education Officer.

KOCHI: The Kerala High Court on Friday directed the State Police Chief to ensure that nobody obstructed efforts by the Assistant Education Officer (AEO) to implement the court’s order to close down the Malaparamba AUP School in Kozhikode.

The court also directed the Kozhikode Police Commissioner and the District Collector to adopt all the necessary measures including, if necessary, exercise of the power to arrest and removal of persons who might obstruct implementation of the order.

Justice A K Jayasankaran Nambiar posted hearing of the case to June 8, and asked the State Government to submit a report on the action taken to implement the order.

The court issued the order while hearing a contempt of court case filed by the school manager, alleging non-compliance with the court’s directive by the government.
