KOZHIKODE: : A superstitious father, who under the influence of a sorcerer refused to let his wife breastfeed their newborn kid for the first 24 hours, landed in trouble on Thursday after the district collector intervened and directed the authorities to register a criminal case against him.
It is said that the father had insisted that the infant should be breastfed only after five calls to prayers.
However, instead of registering a case, the police have allegedly adopted a lenient approach towards the father, identified as Aboobacker Siddique, a native of Omassery, maintaining that they should get a written complaint.
