Former BSF chief Raman Srivatsava becomes police advisor to Kerala CM

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Former Kerala DGP and Director General of the Border Security Force (BSF) Raman Srivastava will be made chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s advisor on police related policy matters. The 1973 batch Kerala cadre IPS officer will be one of seven advisors to the CM, three of whom are serving without pay.

The cabinet on Tuesday decided to appoint Raman Srivastava to the rank of chief secretary without remuneration. It was earlier reported that an advisor for police issues would be brought after CM Vijayan was burdened with Home department and police related issues.

Currently the chief minister has six advisors including Prabha Varma (Press),Gita Gopinath (Finance) MC Dathan (Scientific Advisor), NK Jayakumar (Law), CS Renjit (Development) and John Brittas (Media).
