New head of forest force takes charge

Principal Chief Conservator of Forests H Nagesh Prabhu has taken charge as the new head of Forest Force. He assumed office after incumbent S C Joshi retired on Monday. 

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Principal Chief Conservator of Forests H Nagesh Prabhu has taken charge as the new head of Forest Force. He assumed office after incumbent S C Joshi retired on Monday. A 1984-batch IFS officer, Nagesh was serving as PCCF(Forest Management).

A native of Udupi in Karnataka, he began his official life as assistant deputy forest conservator under the Malayattoor division and later served as DFO, forest conservator and PCCF. He will have a tenure of five months as head of Forest Force. In addition to a long tenure in the Forest Department, Nagesh Prabhu has also served as forest conservator with a World Bank project, Oushadhi MD, PCCF Biodiversity Cell  and joint secretary with the Department of Health under the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
