2 held in moral policing incident involving woman and son

Two persons were arrested for misbehaving with a homemaker and her teenage son in Badiadka in an alleged case of moral policing on August 15.

KASARGOD: Two persons were arrested for misbehaving with a homemaker and her teenage son in Badiadka in an alleged case of moral policing on August 15.The woman, 39, and her teenage son from Neerchal were heckled and humiliated while walking down the road. According to the police complaint filed by her, the two men pulled up their car in front of the woman and son, and started harassing them.


They also took photographs of the complainant and her son using their mobile camera.  Based on the complaint, Badiadka police arrested P Renjith, 23, of Neerchal and K Ravi, 30, of Bela on Wednesday. 
The police also impounded their car, said an officer. The accused were produced before a court and remanded in custody.   “The woman and her son were walking down the road around 3 pm when the incident too place,” said the police. The accused have now been charged with using criminal force to outrage the modesty of a woman (IPC Section 354) and taking photographs affecting the privacy of women (Section 119 (b) of Kerala Police Act).
