KOCHI: The Syro-Malabar Church Synod will commence at St Thomas Mount, Kakkanad from Monday.

All the bishops of  Syro-Malabar Church in Kerala will participate in the Synod, which will be presided over by Archbishop Cardinal George Alencherry, said a release here.

The Synod will discuss various matters related to Church and social issues. The Synod will also accord a reception to Philipose Mar Chrysostom Valiya Metropolitan, Metropolitan Emeritus of Mar Thoma Syrian Church who is celebrating his centenary.
