ALAPPUZHA: The District and Sessions Court on Thursday granted anticipatory bail to actor Fahadh Faasil on charges of tax evasion for registering his luxury car under a fake address in Puducherry.
The bail was granted on condition he should be present before the investigation agency at Thiruvananthapuram for questioning in five days. In case of travelling abroad, he should obtain permission from the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court and deposit a bond of `50,000.

Meanwhile, the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) has sought the Crime Branch (CB) to probe another charge of tax evasion by the actor.  Alappuzha Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Shibu K Itty said, a report has been submitted to the CB requesting to register a case against the actor for forging residential address and evading tax of another luxury car of the actor worth `1.5 crore.

“We had earlier served a notice on the actor. He had paid tax for one of his vehicles, but declined to pay for the other stating he was not using the vehicle in Kerala. We found the vehicle was levied fine for speeding 10 times in Kerala,” he said.  Fahadh recently paid `17.68 lakh as road tax at the Alappuzha RT Office for his Benz E Class car worth `95 lakh registered in Puducherry.

Sources said Fahadh registered another luxury vehicle worth around `1.5 crore in Puducherry and is using it in Kerala. He allegedly evaded tax to the tune of `30 lakh. It was also revealed the actor used forged residential addresses to register both the cars.
