Bypoll in 11 LSG wards on February 21  

Byelection will be held on February 21 to 11 self-government wards, the state election commissioner V Bhaskaran has said.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Byelection will be held on February 21 to 11 self-government wards, the state election commissioner V Bhaskaran has said. The model code of conduct has come into effect in nine grama panchayat wards in six districts, a Corporation ward and a block panchayat ward, he said in a press release.

The nominations will be received from Friday. The last date for receiving papers is February 3. The scrutiny will be held on February 4. The last date for withdrawing nominations is February 6.


The voting will take place from 7 am to 5 pm. Counting is on February 22.
The wards going to the polls are, Minnilam (Panavoor  grama panchayat, Thiruvananthapuram district), Nedumpara(Aryankavu grama panchayat, Kollam),  Moonnilavu (Munnilavu grama panchayat, Kottayam),  Peringalloor(Vijayapuram grama panchayat, Kottayam), Neithusalappadi (Pampakkuda grama panchayat, Ernakulam), Thrissur Municipal Corporation ward 23 -  Mission Quarters, Vadanappally West (Vadanappally grama panchayat, Thrissur), Thekkekkara (Alagappa Nagar grama panchayat, Thrissur),  Pindani (Puthenchira grama panchayat, Thrissur), Thazhathangadi (Areekode grama panchayat, Malappuram) and Pakkam (Panamaram block panchayat, Wayanad)
