KTU recommends cancellation of  affiliation of Toms College of Engg

The APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University has recommended cancellation of the affiliation of Toms College of Engineering, Kottayam, and has called for a detailed probe into the death of Jishnu Pranoy, a student of Nehru College of Engineering, Thrissur.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University has recommended cancellation of the affiliation of Toms College of Engineering, Kottayam, and has called for a detailed probe into the death of Jishnu Pranoy, a student of Nehru College of Engineering, Thrissur.

The recommendations of the university were submitted to Education Minister C Raveendranath here on Tuesday evening. As directed by the government, the university had formed a panel to conduct visits to the two institutions in the wake of widespread complaints and protests by students.
The two-member panel comprising KTU Registrar  G P Padmakumar and Controller of Examinations S Shabu, had visited both the colleges and conducted detailed investigation into the complaints.
