KOCHI: The police on Friday got the custody of two more accused in the case related to the phone calls made by Sunil Kumar aka Pulsar Suni, the prime accused in the actress abduction. Meanwhile, the Kakkanad Judicial First Class Magistrate Court dismissed a plea submitted by Sunil Kumar to end his police custody.

There are seven accused-Sunil Kumar and six fellow prisoners-in the case related to the phone calls made from the jail. Vipinlal, Sunil Kumar aka Mesthiri Sunil, Jinson, Sanal P Mathew, Mahesh and Vishnu are the other accused. The police on Friday got custody of Vipinlal, a law student, and Vishnu.

Sanal P Mathew has been excluded from the list of accused as it was found he was not in jail when Sanal made the phone calls.  The police have added Imran, who allegedly arranged the SIM card, to the list of accused. It was Mahesh who managed to take the phone and SIM card to jail by hiding them in the sole of the chappal.

The police suspect Vishnu masterminded the phone call. It has been found the SIM belonged to a Salem native, which was reported lost. The police are checking how a SIM card lost in Salem reached the hands of the accused. While being taken in police custody, Vipinlal and Vishnu raised allegations before the media. Vipinlal alleged the letter purportedly written by Pulsar Suni was actually written by him under pressure from the jail officers and Pulsar. Another accused Vishnu said there was a conspiracy in the case. But he said he was unaware if any actors were involved in the conspiracy.
