‘Dileep, Suni plotted the assault in 2013’

KOCHI: The conspiracy to sexually assault the actress and capture the video of the dastardly act was  hatched by actor Dileep and Pulsar Suni aka Sunilkumar, the first accused in the case, at a hotel room in the city three years ago. As per the remand report submitted by the investigators before the Angamaly Judicial First Class Magistrate Court on Tuesday, it has been proved that Dileep and Pulsar Suni conspired in room number 410 of Hotel Abad Plaza around 8 pm on a day between March 26 and April 7 in 2013. 

Substantiating this, the police received hotel bills paid by the actor during this period for his stay. The statements of the hotel staff have also been collected in this regard. The rehearsal of 'Mazhavillazhakil Amma,' a mega stage show of Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) was under way at the hotel during these days.  To carry out the ‘quotation,’ the actor had handed over Rs 10,000 as advance to Pulsar Suni in his BMW car parked at Hotel Joys Palace in Thrissur about a year before the incident. On the day Suni had contacted Appunni, Dileep’s aide, four times, according to the investigators.

Meanwhile, Dileep entered into a verbal duel with the actress, the petitioner, at Hotel Abad Plaza during his stay there and subsequently the other actors present on the occasion intervened in the matter to resolve it. The actor had nursed a grudge towards the actress for the reason she played a spoiler’s role in his family life, which, in turn, led to the break-up of marital relations with his ex-wife.

Dileep gave the quotation to capture the original sensitive videos of the actress during these days. According to this, Suni videographed the images showing the ring on the right hand of the actor while sexually assaulting the actress in a moving car on February 17, in order to prove he had not morphed the video captured.   

The police named four more accused in the case, including Dileep aka P Gopalakrishnan, the 11th accused. Mesthiri Sunil, of Kozhencherry, Pathanamthitta, Vishnu of Chembumukku, Kochi, and Vipin Lal of  Changanassery, Kottayam, are the eighth, ninth and tenth accused respectively in the case in which a chargesheet had been filed earlier. 

The accused have been charged under Sections 120 (b) (criminal conspiracy), 342 (punishment for wrongful confinement), 366 (kidnapping), 376 (d) (a woman is raped by one or more persons constituting a group or acting in furtherance of a common intention), 411 (dishonestly receiving stolen property), 506 (i), 201 (punishment for criminal intimidation), 212 (harbouring offender) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of IPC and 66 (E) and 67 (A) of IT Act.

The investigators also dismissed the actor’s claim he has not even met Pulsar Suni in his life, by establishing the duo met several times since March 26, 2013 and for the last time at a shooting location in Thodupuzha on November 14, 2016. Apart from the hotel in Kochi city, the accused conspired at three locations. 

These include the shooting location of Dileep starrer ‘Georgettan’s Pooram’ at the Thrissur Tennis Club on November 13, 2016, at CIFT junction, Thoppumpady, on November 8, 2016 and at Thodupuzha. 
The mobile phone call records, call detail records and statements of witnesses have established Suni and Dileep were in the same location during these occasions. 

Dileep out of AMMA, FEFKA
Kochi: The Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA) has cancelled the primary membership of actor Dileep following his arrest. FEFKA and the newly formed FEUOK have also expelled Dileep.

Dileep sent to Aluva Sub Jail 
Kochi: Actor Dileep was on Tuesday remanded in judicial custody for 14 days and sent to the Aluva Sub Jail.  The actor has been lodged in an ordinary cell.
