KOCHI: ADGP Tomin J Thachankary on Tuesday appeared before the Muvattupuzha Vigilance Court in connection with the disproportionate assets (DA) case registered against him by the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB).

Earlier, a petition was filed by activist P D Joseph stating Thachankary had not turned up at the court as part of the case. Following this, the court had issued a summons to the IPS officer.
The court posted the case to October 17 for framing charges against Thachankary for commencing trial in the case. As part of framing charges, the chargesheet will be read out to Thachankary.

In 2007, the VACB had registered the case against Thachankary for amassing wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income. The VACB in its investigation found Thachankary amassed wealth to the tune of `65,70,891 disproportionate to known sources of income between January 2003 and July 2007. As part of the probe, raids were held at his residence and office.
