RSS activist murder case: Special plaque, cash award for arresting accused in 36 hours

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The team which probed the July 29 murder of an RSS activist has come in for praise from the state police chief Loknath Behara 'for arresting all the accused within 36 hours.'

Behera presented the team the DGPs Special Appreciation Plaque and cash reward.

"The award is for outstanding and exceptional work done with regard to the arrest of all the accused within 36 hours of reporting of the crime, a police press release said.

The team put up a sterling performance in arresting the accused from various parts of the city, recovering the weapons and in recovering the vehicles used by the accused to escape from the scene, it said.

Rajesh, the RSS functionary, was hacked to death by a gang, allegedly led by a history-sheeter, here on Saturday night. His left arm was chopped off and there were several other injuries all over his body.
