THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP national president Amit Shah exhorted the state leadership to urgently chalk out an action plan to rope in members of the minority community into the party.
At the meet, he asked three leaders to explain how many times they visited their constituencies. He asked them to stay for a whole day in every place and stay at the houses of the workers in case the meetings lasted till late into the night to make the workers feel the leaders are part of their family.
He asked the leaders to raise their hands if anyone was satisfied with the performance of the party in the last Assembly elections. As none of them raised their hands, Shah said it was a good sign to admit the harsh reality with humility.
He asked the leaders to exhort the cadre to attend every function linked to welfare measures irrespective of whether the Central Government or the state government was implementing it. “Whatever be the function, irrespective of the government which organises it, our cadre should attend such functions by wearing party shawls or caps to make the people identify them.
The money being spent or services being provided are not from any one’s father’s pocket. It is the tax payer’s money which is spent for the people,” he reminded them.
National organising secretary Ramlal, joint organising secretary B L Santhosh, national general secretary Bhupender Yadav MP, national secretary H Raja, state president Kummanam Rajasekharan, national executive members and core committee members attended the meet.
