CHERTHALA: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has said the state will open its doors to eco-friendly industries. He was speaking after laying the foundation stone for the mega seafood park being set up by the Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC)  at Pallipuram here on Sunday.

Pinarayi said the government would make Kerala an industrial-friendly state in a few years and the new industrial policy will be in line with this goal. However, we will not invite all industrialists to the state. Only those industries which will benefit the people and the ecology of the state will be allowed.  The procedures for setting up an industry will be simplified and it will be implemented in a decentralised way to take development to villages, Pinarayi said.

He also thanked the Central Government for its assistance in furthering industrial development.  State Industries Minister A C Moideen presided over the function. Food and Civil Supplies Minister  P Thilothaman, K C Venugopal MP, A M Ariff MLA, district panchayat president G Venugopal, KSIDC chairman Christy Fernandez and MD M Beena spoke.
