Former KPCC chief VM Sudheeran has come out against opposition UDF for extending its support for unanimous passing of the professional colleges bill,  regularising admissions to Kannur and Karuna self-financing medical colleges. Terming the opposition action self-cheating, Sudheeran warned that unity in such things could prove to be dangerous.

In a statement issued here, the senior leader pointed out that the ruling and opposition fronts should unite for things desirable for the state. But supporting a bill to regularise the illegal activities by Kannur and Karuna medical colleges, is wrong. "It was self-cheating by the opposition which chose to share the sin, instead of exposing the government move in favour of the self-financing colleges. The agitations by UDF
legislators and Youth Congress against the self-financing managements have become meaningless with this one action," Sudheeran said.

Coming down heavily on the UDF for joining hands with the government, Sudheeran termed it strange that the fraud is being committed in the name of students. "Such unity in covering up illegal
activities is not only a mockery, but is also dangerous. It should not be repeated ever," Sudheeran added.
