Mock homage: Principal files police plaint against students

The principal of Nehru Arts and Science College P V Pushpaja filed a police complaint against three students in connection with the mock homage paid to her on campus.

KANHANGAD:The principal of Nehru Arts and Science College P V Pushpaja filed a police complaint against three students in connection with the mock homage paid to her on campus. She said the protest staged allegedly by members of the SFI cause her mental agony, and that is why she approached the police.

In her complaint, she had named Muhammed Anees, Praveen M P and Sarath Damodaran - all second-year undergraduate students. She accused them of bursting crackers on the campus, which she said was an illegal act. She said the poster put up by students caused her mental pain.  The poster read: ‘Homage to the principal who had died in the hearts of students. Relief from disaster. Freedom to campus’.Pushpaja, who is retiring on May 31, had suspended the three, pending enquiry, till April 15.
