KOCHI: A day after he was sacked by Kotak Mahindra bank as assistant manager for posting abusive comments on the Kathua rape victim on his Facebook page, Kochinative Vishnu Nandakumar found himself under added pressure on Saturday with the Kerala police booking a case against him under Section (153) of IPC.

After thousands of people took to social media to condemn Vishnu's post, which went viral, Kotak Mahindra terminated Vishnu from service. Though the bank explained he was sacked for ‘poor performance’, they did condemn Vishnu’s post. Panangad police slapped a non-bailable charge on him after several organisations filed a complaint against Vishnu, including before the city police chief. Police said they had launched an investigation.

"His mobile is switched off and he's absconding. We're trying to trace his location," said officers at the Panangad police station. Meanwhile, protest is brewing against Vishnu at his native Nettoor. Posters have come up against him. "We never expected Vishnu to make such a comment," said social activist Thomas Nettoor.
