IDUKKI: Education Minister Prof C Raveendranath visited Abhimanyu's house, a second year old BSC Chemistry student at Maharajas College, Eranakulam who was stabbed to death allegedly by some campus front activists on Sunday night.

He visited Abhimanyu's father Manoharan, mother Bhoopathy, sister Kawsalya and brother Darishith at their house at Vattavada near Munnar in Idukki.

The minister, who reached Abhimanyu's house by around 9 am consoled his parents.

He informed them that the main culprit who was involved in the crime had been caught by the police and steps have been taken by the government to catch others who committed the crime. He told them that the death of Abhimanyu was a great loss to the party and to the state as well.

He, who spent more than half an hour at Abhimanyu's house, inquired about the situation of Abhimanyu's family from the party workers. Devikulam MLA S Rajendran and other party leaders accompanied him.
