THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: On the eve of the by-election in Wayanad and Chelakkara, Leader of Opposition V D Satheesan intensified his attack on the LDF government and Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
Speaking to reporters in Thiruvananthapuram Satheesan alleged that the CM has been sheltering the CPM and BJP under the same umbrella creating religious divide among the people.
“The Munambam issue can be resolved within 10 minutes. The LDF government is deliberately delaying resolution of the issue to to make room for the Sangh Parivar to intervene,” he said.
“It was decided to call a high-level meeting on November 16 after the Opposition demanded that an all-party meeting be called. With the Palakkad bypoll being postponed, the government has now decided that the meeting can be convened only after that.
The government also intends not to resolve the Munambam issue amicably before the bypolls. All Muslim organisations, including the Muslim League, have said that the land in Munambam does not come under Waqf Board and it belongs to the current occupants,” said Satheesan.
