BHUBANESWAR: Agriculture and Cooperation Minister and BJD vice-president Damodar Rout today accused the Congress and the BJP of working against the development of the State.

Decrying the call of the two Opposition parties for organising rallies against the Government in connection with the Vedanta University, the BJD vice-president said that facing similar opposition the Korean steel major Posco is now exploring the possibilities of setting up its project in Karnataka and Maharashtra. Similarly, ArcelorMittal is also scouting for land in Karnataka and Jharkhand.

While these two parties are opposing the Vedanta University for political reasons, the Congress Government in Andhra Pradesh and the BJP Government in Karnataka have started wooing Anil Agarwal for setting up of the proposed university of international standards. He sought to know from the Congress and the BJP if they are working for the interest of other states at the cost of Orissa.

Defending Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, the Agriculture Minister said that there was no evidence of corruption against his leader.

What the Orissa High Court had pointed out in its judgment was the procedural flaws which could be rectified. Besides, the Government has the scope to go for ab appeal against the High Court order.
