Denying media reports about outbreak of diarrhoea in the district, ADMO Priyaranjan Bahali said two persons had till now died of the disease. Eswar Goudo of Semlapadar village in Chandahandi block died of diarrhoea and vomiting on Tuesday, he said.
While Seshmala Pata of Bhendia village died of food poisoning, Kunti Nial of Badamunda died of acute anaemia and Syam Pangi died of meningitis, he said, adding that Suna Nag and Parvati of Belpati also died due to food poisoning. They all died at their homes.
Collector Yamini Sarangi said there was no reason to panic. Chandahandi is an isolated case and the situation is under control. A team of doctors is camping there, she added
