BHUBANESWAR: The Odisha Pradesh Youth Congress (OPYC) will appoint master coaches for each of the 21 Lok Sabha constituencies to train the newly-elected office-bearers.

 This was discussed at the State Executive Body meeting of the OPYC at the Congress Bhavan here on Sunday. OPYC president Sangram Keshari Jena presided over the meeting. The Lok Sabha presidents will provide information regarding the appointment of master coaches in their respective areas on January 13 and 14 and distribute application forms also. The last date for submission of application forms is January 22.

 Interview for master coaches will be conducted on January 24, 25 and 26 by dividing the State into four zones. After the interview, a shortlist of the master coaches will be prepared. The shortlisted candidates will appear for the final interview in Bhubaneswar and Sambalpur on January 30 and 31.

 Applicants for master coaches should be above 30 years of age and holding a masters degree. Besides, they should be fluent in three languages __ Hindi, English and Odia.

 A master coach should devote 10 days or at least five days for training the Youth Congress activists and office-bearers or else s/he will be relieved of duties. A master coach will be appointed for a period of five years.

 Those appointed to the post should not aspire for ticket for any election and should be computer-savvy. Besides, they should have experience of doing organisational and development work with all communities at the grassroots level. OPYC general secretary Daridranarayan Nayak has been nominated as training in-charge for the State.

 The meeting also discussed the future course of action of the State Youth Congress. Besides, campaign strategies for the ensuing panchayat polls were also discussed.

 OPYC vice-president Biswabhusan Das, all State office-bearers and Lok Sabha presidents attended the meeting.
