Tension prevailed in Muniguda area of Rayagada district following appearance of Maoist posters on Sunday.

The posters found at Dhoba Chhack and Hatamuniguda areas exhorted public to protest the Lower Suktel project at Balangir and Posco steel plant at Jagatsinghpur.

The Maoists also flayed the State Government to trying to displace innocent villages in the name of industrialisation.

Forest areas of Rayagada have of late turned into safe havens for the ultras. While Bansadhara dalam of the CPI(Maoist) outfit dominates many areas of the district, Sabyasachi Panda led Odisha Maobadi Party controls the Chandrapur area of the district.
