 Though closure of five sluice gates of Hirakud dam eased off the situation to some extent, many pockets remain inundated.

In Sonepur, communication between Birmaharajpur and Kadligarh leading to Rairakhol in Sambalpur and Boudh has been snapped near Durdura village under Itamahul gram panchayat. Reports from Boudh said State Highway 41 connecting Boudh with Kantamal block in the district has been disrupted at Ghantapada with water from river Tel flooding the area.
