A team of State BJP leaders led by their president KV Singhdeo met the family members of the minor student of Kharnasi village under Mahakalpada block in Kendrapara district who was a victim of gangrape and attempted murder by two fellow villagers on Sunday.
The team visited SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack where the girl is undergoing treatment and enquired about her condition from the doctors attending her. Besides, the BJP leaders met the family of Maino Murmu, a minor girl who was axed by a person and is undergoing treatment in the hospital.Singhdeo strongly condemned the inhuman and heinous acts of barbarism and demanded exemplary punishment to the criminals along with adequate security to the families of the victims as they are still under threat from the accused persons.
Singhdeo also demanded adequate compensation to the victims and asked the State Government to bear medical expenses of both victims.
Former minister Sameer Dey, Parsuram Majhi, Bishnu Prasad Dash, Baidhar Mallick, Simantini Jena, Duryodhan Sahu and Pratap Mishra were among others in the team.
