A Congress leader of Manoharpur in Jharkhand, Rizwan Alam (45), was hacked to death near check gate at Bisra under Bisra police limits in Sundargarh over past enmity on Friday.
Bisra, IIC Susant Das said, Alam belonged to Manoharpur area in Jharkhand and had come to Bisra on Thursday. He was waiting for a bus near check gate when the miscreants hacked him to death with sharp weapons. Sources said three motorcycle borne miscreants tried to take him with them but when they failed, they killed him on the spot. They claimed that it was a revenge killing as Alam had protected some culprits in a criminal case last year in which three persons linked to Bisra were burnt alive.
