Commuting during monsoon is a struggle for the residents of the Brajrajnagar Municipality as water puddles dot the roads.
Ironically, the condition prevails in the Municipality which was awarded as the best Municipality by the Chief Minister this year. It was also described as the fast track Municipality.
The condition of Mahabirnagar-Khaliakani main road under the Municipality is pathetic. This road remains waterlogged almost throughout the monsoon rendering it totally unsafe for motorists.
In the last six years, the authorities have not paid any attention to its repair and reconstruction. Sources said after the road was constructed by the Municipality in 2007, no repair or maintenance work has been taken up. As there is no alternative to the road, the residents have no option but to rely on this unsafe road for their daily communication.
Municipality Chairman NK Agarwal said, “I will discuss the issue with MCL authority to repair the road and if MCL does not agree, the Municipality will take up the work.”
