The bandh call against Enzen Global Solutions Pvt Limited hit normal life here on Wednesday. Enzen Hatao Committee, which is spearheading the campaign against the company, had given the bandh call.

While vehicular communication was paralysed, business establishments, educational institutions and Government offices remained closed.

Committee leader Naba Kishore Guru and Congress leader Bidhan Chandra Mishra along with other trade union leaders staged demonstration in the town.

Sources said following  protests against Enzen for three months, a tripartite agreement was signed in presence of Collector, SP and senior officials of CESU on January 31.

As per it, the company was asked to keep away from bill collection, meter reading and other services. Only CESU officials can do all these works, it was agreed. But Enzen continued to work as usual which was objected by the consumers.
