National carrier Air India (AI) has further slashed the frequency of its New Delhi-Bhubaneswar-Port Blair flight to four days a week.
Last month, it was cut down from six days to five. The flight will not operate on Tuesdays anymore, apart from Wednesdays and Saturdays.
The change will come into effect from September 15, an AI press release said. The decision to reduce the frequency may have been caused by a drop in passenger load from the national capital, sources said.
The 70-seater flight got majority of its bookings from Delhi which has witnessed a sharp decline, almost by 65 per cent, since this is the lean season for tourism.
Similarly, the bookings from Bhubaneswar region has also dropped proportionately.
