Vigilance officials of Nuapada district on Thursday raided the house of Rajiv Lochan Biswal, a Junior Engineer of Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) at Baliguda for allegedly possessing assets disproportionate to his income.
The raid was conducted simultaneously at his office and quarters at Baliguda and house in Bhawanipatna. It was alleged that though he was a contractual junior engineer, he possessed a three-storey building in Bhawanipatna. Based on the allegation, a case was registered in court of special vigilance judge in Bhawanipatna.
Sources said some important documents have been seized from Biswal's quarters along with cash of Rs 4.11 lakh, laptops and costly electronic gadgets. The building at Bhawanipatna is worth Rs 50 lakh, sources added. Besides, it was alleged that at Baliguda, Biswal has accumulated a lot of money by entering into partnership with different construction projects under ITDA. Vigilance DSP of Nuapada Dasarathi Sethi, his staff and the staff of Bhawanipatna vigilance office conducted the raid.
