Dengue claims one more life

Dengue has claimed one more life in the State with a 44-year-old woman from Angul succumbing to the disease at Apollo Hospital here. The woman was being treated at the hospital since July 18.

While Government claimed this to be the first dengue death, unofficial sources put the toll at four as the death of three other dengue positive persons at the SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack has been attributed to other reasons.

Meanwhile, the outbreak of the disease has intensified across the State with more than 23 districts coming under its grip. After Cuttack, the outbreak has manifested severely in Angul district.

Of 79 persons testing positive for dengue on Monday, 27 are from Cuttack city while a significant 24 are from Angul. Khurda recorded 18 cases on Monday, Puri three, Dhenkanal two and Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur and Mayurbhanj one each.
