e-surveillance launched on KIIT campus

Director General of Police Prakash Mishra inaugurated the e-surveillance system on KIIT University campus here on Friday.

Stating that CCTV is a modern facility and has been adopted by big cities for public security, Mishra said e-surveillance system will be introduced in Bhubaneswar on priority basis and in some other towns of the State soon. The law and order apparatus of the State has the capability to handle any kind of situation, he added.

KIIT has installed the biggest e-surveillance network in the country with 1,413 CCTVs including 50 PTC wireless cameras. In coming month, 1,000 more CCTV cameras are going to be installed on the campus.

KIIT and KISS founder Achyuta Samanta also spoke on the occasion. Among others, secretary, KIIT and KISS RN Dash and VC, KIIT University Dr PP Mathur were present.
