Comprehensive Radiotherapy unit at HCG

The HCG Panda Cancer Centre at Telengapentha here on Sunday announced the launch of comprehensive radiation therapy facility with state-of-the-art infrastructure and equipment for providing advanced services to the patients.

Inaugurated by MLA Dr Pramod Mallick and Director of AIIMS, Bhubaneswar Prof AK Mohapatra, the facility is equipped with the latest Linear Accelerator (LINAC) and multi-leaf collimeter (MMLC) facility for conduct of high precision radiotherapy on patients. It will also enable stereotactic radiosurgery and stereotactic radiotherapy (SRS/SRT) for treatment of brain tumours. The facility has also Cobalt 60 and Brachytherapy units.

“HCG Cancer Centre has become the only speciality cancer hospital of the State to establish a comprehensive radiotherapy unit for provisioning advanced treatment to the patients. The unit would be further upgraded with the first PET-CT scan facility and another high-end LINAC in next six months,” Dr Sanjay Panda said.“Launch of the advanced radiation therapy centre,, will redefine cancer care treatment in Odisha,” Medical Director KS Panda said.
