Two persons were arrested by Purushottampur police on Saturday for murdering one Kalu Behera (55) of Kamanalinakhyapur village on Wednesday night.

The accused have been identified as Debraj Pradhan and Siba Nayak. They were forwarded to court on Saturday.

Police said though the cause of the murder is yet to be  ascertained, two other persons are involved in the murder. On Wednesday night, the four accused dragged Kalu to a room of his house and attacked him with sharp weapons.

After committing the crime they locked the front and back doors of the house from inside and escaped through skylight.

On Thursday Kalu’s wife Kumari Behera, who was not present in the house when the crime was committed, lodged a complaint with police.

Police broke open the door and found Kalu lying in a pool of blood. Police said the two other accused have been identified and would be nabbed soon.
