Tension gripped Town police station after a girl, who had consumed sleeping pills in a bid to commit suicide, died on Thursday.
Locals gheraoed the police station with the girl’s body demanding arrest of a chartered accountant (CA) who is suspected to have abetted in the suicide. The girl was doing articleship under the CA.
Police have registered a case based on the complaint of mother of the deceased Putul Dey and further investigation is on.
According to reports, the girl, Rupali, was allegedly abused and mentally tortured by the CA. Rupali mentioned this in a suicide note.
She consumed the sleeping pills on August 16, but was rushed to VSS Medical where she died on Thursday morning.
