HC Bench: Students boycott classes

Students of various colleges in Sambalpur on Tuesday boycotted classes in support of the High Court bench demand of Sambalpur District Bar Association (SDBA).

Students of Ganagadhar Meher (Autonomous) College, Women’s College, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose (NSCB) College, VSS Science College, Sri Aurobindo Junior College and Maa Jhadeswari College staged demonstrations in front of their colleges.

Some of them also marched to the Revenue Divisional Commissioner (North) office where lawyers are sitting in a relay hunger strike.

Apart from the students, women members of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh also went in a rally to the RDC office where they expressed solidarity with the agitating lawyers. Economist Dilip Panda said since the HC bench is a public demand, all elected representatives should be asked to resign.
