A minor boy was arrested for allegedly raping a four-year-old girl in Pipaldabur village of Madmahul panchayat under Patnagarh police limits on Wednesday evening.
DSP (crime) Niranjan Mishra, who is investigating into the case, said the accused, Purohit Badhei alias Kandakudu (16) of the same village raped the girl near her house while her parents had gone out to work.
Though both the boy’s family tried to settle the matter at a village meeting the same night, but the girl’s parents did not agree to their suggestions.
Later, the father of the victim girl filed an FIR in the police station, following which police nabbed the accused and forwarded him to court after medical examination.
