The decomposed body of a girl was recovered from Rishikulya canal near Badagada under Darakote block on Wednesday. According to forensic report, she had died 48 hours before the body was found. The identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained.

The corpse was found tied with a boulder when the sluice gates were closed to trace one Parsuram Gouda of nearby village Bahadaguda who was swept away in the canal.

After the water level came down, the body surfaced with slit throat. It was sent to MKCGMCH for autopsy.

As blood stains and pieces of bangles were found from the spot, police suspect it to be a case of murder.

The search for missing Gouda was still continuing. Two days ago, a Class IX girl student drowned in a pond in Seragada block. Forensic experts with sniffer dog reached the spot for investigation.
