XIMB student bags $ 69,000 package

A business management student of Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB) received the highest annual package of 69,000 US dollar from an international company during campus recruitment for the students of 2011-13 academic session.

XIMB students have bagged three international management profiles as per the placement data released by the institute.

Business development job profile was offered to the student who bagged the highest package. Two international companies who offered good packages were AATCO and In2IT. Mahindra and Mahindra was the domestic company which offered the highest package of Rs 17.25 lakh per annum.

Around 179 business management students and  70 companies took part in the placement drive. The major recruiters were Reckitt Benckiser, Tata Steel, SBI Capital Markets, Amazon and Amrop.

This year also marked the first placement drive for the new course of human resource management (HRM) in the institute. Around 32 companies recruited 59 students from the HRM stream. The highest package of ` 14.30 lakh was offered by Aditya Birla HR Leadership Program.

Around 25 per cent of the students were offered jobs by companies where they had gone for internship.

The students of Rural Management (RM) also received 100 per cent placement with the highest figure of ` 21.73 lakh offered by the international company Triton Group.

The highest domestic package of ` 9.65 lakh was offered by Bajaj Auto Finance.

Most of the job profiles offered for the RM students are for sales and collection.

This was the 16th batch to sit for placement. Three students from business management and four from HRM dropped out of placement drive while the rest were placed.
