Tension over student’s death in hostel

Tension ran high at the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya here on Tuesday morning following the death of a student. The deceased was identified as Vidyabharati Panda, a Class X student of the school belonging to Dankarisahi village in Gania block.

Principal of the school V Srinivasan said Vidyabharti complained of uneasiness late Monday night and had fever.  “She went to bed after taking medicines and at around 4 am, she was found gasping for breath and started vomiting blood. She was immediately taken to district headquarters hospital where she was declared brought dead,” said Srinivasan.

An unnatural death case has been registered and body handed over to her parents after post-mortem.
