A five-member team of the Human Rights Protection Cell (HRPC) on Friday proceeded to Balasore to probe into the dowry torture allegation levelled against former minister Raghunath Mohanty and his family members by his daughter-in-law.
Headed by a Deputy Superintendent of Police, the team will take over the case which led to resignation of Mohanty as Law and Urban Development Minister.
Meanwhile, Mohanty’s son Raja Shree Mohanty has filed for anticipatory bail before the Orissa High Court apprehending arrest a day after his wife lodged the FIR.
