Police raid on 3 local hotels

Police conducted raid on three hotels in Bhubaneswar and Puri for using the service of Media Pro Enterprise India Pvt Ltd without taking necessary permission.

Media Pro is a joint venture of Star Den Media services and Zee Turner. It distributes Zee, Star, NDTV and Turner bouquet of channels such as Zee TV, Star Plus, Asianet, and Asianet Movies.

The company had filed an FIR against two Puri-based and one Bhubaneswar-based hotel for illegally broadcasting its channels.

Prior to that, company had served a notice on the hotels. According to a press release issued by Media Pro, the three hotels violated provisions of TRAI tariff order which prohibits unauthorised broadcast.

“Establishments have to take broadcast signals directly from broadcaster or authorised operator. In this case, the three hotels were taking unauthorised feeds from a local cable TV network,” a spokesperson said.
