Raj Bhavan bids adieu to Bhandare

The officials and staff of Raj Bhavan bid farewell to outgoing Governor MC Bhandare on Saturday.

At a function organised by the family members of Raj Bhavan staff, Bhandare said his stay in the State was memorable. “Even though I tried to make the people of Odisha happy, they have given me more happiness during all these years,” said Bhandare. Bhandare’s tenure as Governor was five years and seven months. He visited all the districts during his tenure. He was very popular among children.

He instituted the Governor’s trophy for the students who performed well in dance, music and drawing. Speaking about the award, he said the trophy would act as an inspiration for the students to do well in these fields.

Principal Secretary to Governor Parag Gupta, Special Secretary to Governor SP Mishra and other officials were present. Bhandare will leave the State on Sunday.
