In a twist to the murder of Judicial Officer Anupama Behera, the deceased’s mother on Wednesday slammed Balasore police for resorting to character assassination of her daughter.
Pramila Behera, the deceased officer’s mother, told mediapersons here that Balasore SP Amrita Dash had jumped to the conclusion about her daughter’s alleged illicit relationship without any substantial evidence. Since the investigation is incomplete, such premature conclusion is unwarranted, she said.
Behera said the family has been deeply hurt by the SP’s claim and warned of legal measures against Dash. She said there were several missing links in the whole story but police have glossed over them and to cover them up, such conclusions have been manufactured.
Behera demanded an inquiry by Central Bureau of Investigation into the whole incident.
