City-based Institute of Medical Sciences and SUM Hospital has received permanent recognition from Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
The medical college and hospital, a constituent of SOA University, which was started with an intake of 100 seats for MBBS in 2007-08, was accorded the recognition after verification of its infrastructure, teaching process and other facilities by a committee of Medical Council of India.
The Ministry has also given permission to Institute of Dental Sciences (IDS), another constituent of SOA University, to open MDS from 2013-2014 academic year in seven departments - Orthodontics, Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Conservative Dentistry, Prosthodontics and Periodontology.
